Labour Day!

Hey there Bloggers!

Hope you are enjoying a nice long weekend. Unfortunately here is has been rainy all weekend.

Today is the day that we make the drive to Lethbridge to take our daughter back to school for another year. Hopefully this year will be another good one.

With the cooler weather coming, I guess it's as good a time as any to showcase some Christmas cards LOL

This week the cards that I will be featuring are using the Flurry of Wishes stamp set.

Today's card was made using last week's Mojo Monday sketch.

Try It Tuesday!

Hey there Bloggers! Hope your week is going well so far. Well, my cabinets are in, the counter top is attached. Now I am just waiting patiently for the doors. Ha, if my husband could hear me now, he would say that the last thing I am is patient! I have been giving him a hard time lately because I keep coming up with new things I want him to do, and he is not appreciating the "oh this should only take you a few minutes..." He says that I don't fully understand how long it takes to do things or appreciate the fact that he does have an actual job to do too. So, I am waiting for the doors...and I picked up these crates a few weeks ago and I just thought of a use for one of them, so I need him to quickly spray it (he is a cabinet maker and finisher). Then he is working on a table and chairs set that I picked up for a steal on a swap n buy site to re-finish. Oh, and I forgot the drawers that he is making for me, that I use to store my cards ( I have 4 already but I need a few more. I will have to post a pic of them sometime). I love my husband, tee hee!
If you haven't seen my re-organization for the new year, you can check out my post here.

So today's card is my Try It Tuesday card. Today I am trying some of the new products that I ordered from the Spring Catalogue. I hope you like it! This card started out as this Mojo Monday sketch and took a definite turn from what I was expecting it to look like!!

A Magical Birthday

Wow! I can't believe it's the end of another month, and the kids are headed back to school again. I find it amazing how life seems to fly by now. Pretty soon I will be back at the rink with hockey and skating.

Today's card is designed based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch #256

And I made this card for a friend of mine who was having a birthday this week and she is a HUGE Disney fan! I hope you like it.

Terryfic Tips:
  • When using an overlay, try to attach it to your project behind other layers so it isn't noticeable.
  • Use the corner of a square punch to create the flag ends on your paper.
  • Mat your glimmer paper to "ground" it.

I love my community

Another weekend over... and it seemed like a quick one too.
You know, I love where I live. There is always something going on. And even though I may not always be a participant, it's nice to know that my community cares. Take Sunday for example... The Hair Lounge, a small business here, has a hair cutting event every once in awhile, where the cost is only $10 and the proceeds go to a local charity. This weekend happened to be the food bank. I wasn't able to get to the event today because I had some other things going on but like I said, I am proud to know that even the smallest business care. And that's why I love it here. I hope that you live in a community that you love.

Today's card is actually once again last week's Mojo Monday sketch #255. I always seem to be a week behind lately.
I used some colors that frankly I wouldn't normally use and I think it turned out pretty good.

Here's the sketch

And here is my card.....

Mojo Monday #254

So it's Monday, and the start of a new week. I went with hubby and son to see the Expendables 2 on Friday night. I have to say it was probably the cheesiest movie with the most gratuitous violence that I have seen in awhile. Now that's not to say that it's a bad movie, it actually wasn't but I'm not sure that the flying blood splatter and body parts was necessary. In short, it was pretty much what I expected it to be. And it was fun to hear the audience reacting with laughter and applause at certain points. All in all it was a good night out.

So today's card was created using the Mojo Monday sketch. This sketch was actually last week's.

And here is my card.... It was actually inspired by a card made by a fellow demonstrator.
I started out with the sketch and it turned out looking nothing like it! LOL

Check it out!.... Canadian Scrapbooker magazine and Christy Riopel are featuring the Simply Scored tool! The new Fall 2012 edition of Canadian Scrapbooker is shipping now!

  • Create your own Shimmer Spray ; Take a Stampin' Spritzer and fill 3/4 full with Rubbing Alcohol. Add some Shimmer Paint.
  • Stamp your flower three times and cut in various layers to create a dimensional flower.

It is vacation day #3! Nice sunny day, and I am looking forward to getting some outside stuff done. And Blair is finishing up my barnboard furniture.

Today's card is my take on this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I used the new Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, Early Espresso Tulle, Candlelight Christmas DSP.
