Peaceful Petals Sponging

Hey there Bloggers! Woohoo it's Friday! And I am headed to a skating competition this weekend in St Albert.
Are your kids involved in sports? This will be the last year for my daughter as she is moving on to University next year but I am sure that she will keep up with her skating when she comes home. She just won't be competing anymore. Next year will be my son's last year in hockey too. Life is changing...

Today's card is one that I made based on an idea that I saw on Hero Arts blog. It has some sponging, some emboss resist and some layering.

Enjoy!

Try It Tuesday!

Hey there Bloggers! Hope your week is going well so far. Well, my cabinets are in, the counter top is attached. Now I am just waiting patiently for the doors. Ha, if my husband could hear me now, he would say that the last thing I am is patient! I have been giving him a hard time lately because I keep coming up with new things I want him to do, and he is not appreciating the "oh this should only take you a few minutes..." He says that I don't fully understand how long it takes to do things or appreciate the fact that he does have an actual job to do too. So, I am waiting for the doors...and I picked up these crates a few weeks ago and I just thought of a use for one of them, so I need him to quickly spray it (he is a cabinet maker and finisher). Then he is working on a table and chairs set that I picked up for a steal on a swap n buy site to re-finish. Oh, and I forgot the drawers that he is making for me, that I use to store my cards ( I have 4 already but I need a few more. I will have to post a pic of them sometime). I love my husband, tee hee!
If you haven't seen my re-organization for the new year, you can check out my post here.

So today's card is my Try It Tuesday card. Today I am trying some of the new products that I ordered from the Spring Catalogue. I hope you like it! This card started out as this Mojo Monday sketch and took a definite turn from what I was expecting it to look like!!

I love my community

Another weekend over... and it seemed like a quick one too.
You know, I love where I live. There is always something going on. And even though I may not always be a participant, it's nice to know that my community cares. Take Sunday for example... The Hair Lounge, a small business here, has a hair cutting event every once in awhile, where the cost is only $10 and the proceeds go to a local charity. This weekend happened to be the food bank. I wasn't able to get to the event today because I had some other things going on but like I said, I am proud to know that even the smallest business care. And that's why I love it here. I hope that you live in a community that you love.

Today's card is actually once again last week's Mojo Monday sketch #255. I always seem to be a week behind lately.
I used some colors that frankly I wouldn't normally use and I think it turned out pretty good.

Here's the sketch

And here is my card.....
