Hey there Bloggers! It's Monday again! And this week on MDS Monday I want to share a layout that I found on Mydigitalstudio.net.
I really love the colors and the layout. It really pops! It features the This & That Epic Day kit from the current catalogue.

MDS Monday

Hey there Bloggers!

I saw this layout on mydigitalstudio.net and I thought I'd share it with you. This is a great use of a QR code. If you aren't familiar with a QR code is, it is a barcode that you can imbed information into so when it is scanned by a QR code reader it will take you to a link, video or other information.
QR codes can be made and read easily with an app downloaded from your App store.
In this case, Dana Lewis has used a QR code to be scanned to watch a video of her cute kids.

My Paper Pumpkin March

Hey there Bloggers! Well, it's Wednesday, half way through the week and half way to my creativity day (Saturday!)
Tonight is also my Stamper's Club night so I will have some awesome projects to feature in the next few days. I am showcasing the Tag Topper Punch this month for my club so stay tuned!

Today I wanted to mention that I subscribed again to My Paper Pumpkin. I had cancelled my subscription back in the fall as I wasn't overly impressed. I had heard that Stampin' Up had made some changes and being a customer myself as well as believing that I should be informed about products before I tell my customers to buy something, I decided to give it a second chance.
So I received my March kit the other day and I opened it up last night. I was pleasantly surprised. They have definitely stepped it up a bit. This month you receive in the kit two stamps, two stampin spot inks, a sheet of glitter pop dots, a sheet of glue dots, 8 cards, 8 envelopes with gold liners, and 8 wooden embellishments. Not too bad! Here's a picture of the items that you get...

Once I have a chance I will post the cards that I made using the instructions and the stepped up cards that I make from these items.

MDS Monday

Sorry, a little late today. But well worth the wait!

I found this project online and I think it's the cutest thing ever! How clever to use MDS and Shrink Plastic to create a personalized keychain!

You can find the original post by Martha Inchley here

And here's another post featuring the same technique...

Peaceful Petals Sponging

Hey there Bloggers! Woohoo it's Friday! And I am headed to a skating competition this weekend in St Albert.
Are your kids involved in sports? This will be the last year for my daughter as she is moving on to University next year but I am sure that she will keep up with her skating when she comes home. She just won't be competing anymore. Next year will be my son's last year in hockey too. Life is changing...

Today's card is one that I made based on an idea that I saw on Hero Arts blog. It has some sponging, some emboss resist and some layering.

Enjoy!

Chevron Technique with DSP

Hey there Bloggers! It's Hump Day! It has been so cold here in the last week and I am so happy that we are seeing just a little bit of relief. This winter seems to be have been dragging on forever and I know that everyone is experiencing severe weather for the last few months. What's been happening in your neck of the woods? I would love to know.

Today's post is a card that we made at my last Stamper's Club meeting. It is a Chevron Technique using DSP. Depending on the Designer Series Paper you use, you can get a different effect and a definitely a different look.
Cut 5 pieces of DSP to  2" x 1".  Fold three of the strips by taking the right corner and folding it over to the left side forming a 45 degree angle. The other two strips will be folded in the opposite direction.  Turn the strip and repeat the same thing on the other end.  Make sure that you are just turning the strip and not flipping it over.  Both folds are on the same side.  Once all the strip corners have been folded take them and create your chevron on your card front. It is easy to see how it will look if you use Dotto repositionable tape, that way you can move them around as needed then once it is perfect then you can adhere permanently.

Stamp Sets:   Birthday Wishes  (Retired)
Paper:  Watercolor Wonder DSP (132994), Smokey Slate (131202), Whisper White (100730)
Ink: Smokey Slate (131179)
The Perfect Touch: Delicate Details Lace Tape (130966)
